Derick Lotz

Derick is a talented lawyer who has been practicing law since March 2018. He specialises in litigation and commercial law.

Derick has extensive experience in criminal defence litigation, particularly, clients facing allegations of fraud, serious violence and traffic offences, and has successfully argued cases in the Court of Appeal and High Court. He is available to take instructions on a private basis or on Legal Aid. Derick also helps clients in family matters, including proceedings under the Care of Children Act, Oranga Tamariki Act, Family Violence Act and Property (Relationships) Act. Additionally, he acts for individuals and companies in debt recovery proceedings and litigation involving trusts, wills and estates.

For Derick, the most rewarding part of his job is being able to help guide his clients through tough periods in their lives and play a role in their path to success. He takes a collaborative approach to his work, working closely with his colleagues Aileen, Phil, Romeo, and Robin to provide comprehensive legal services to his clients.

Derick has a keen interest in music law and enjoys spending time outside of work playing guitar in a rock band and producing electronic music with his friends.
